You must read the order in its entirety. All ex-parte orders require you to have a police officer escort you when returning to your house to pick up items. Any violation of the order could lead to arrest.
No. “Personal” Service is defined as being served “in hand” only to the person/company to be served.
Yes. “Residential” Service is defined as being served to anyone over the age of 16 years at the service address who can sign for receipt of the papers.
The Civil Division of the Sheriff’s Office is located inside the Summit County Courthouse at 209 S. High Street, Akron, OH 44308
No, once notified you must report to the office of the Civil Division located in the basement of the Summit County Court House to obtain the papers. The deputy will not return. Please bring positive identification with you.
If your property was NOT sold at Sheriff Sale, then you will need to contact the Municipal Court where your property is located. There are 3 Municipal Courts in Summit County: Akron, Barberton, Stow.
