No, we release inmates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Yes, they will need to register at www.ICSolutions.com. After registration, they will need to provide a clergy identification to verify their status. This can be sent to: rmccutcheon@sheriff.summitoh.net. If you have any personal relationship with an inmate, you cannot visit as clergy, it must be a scheduled personal visit.

Yes, inmates generally have access to a phone from 5:30am to 11:00pm daily. All calls will be collect unless a debit telephone account has been set up for the inmate. To receive inmate calls on a cellular phone, you must first set up a pre-paid account through our phone service vendor ICS Solutions at 1-888-506-8407 or on the web at www.icsolutions.com. You can also set up a debit phone account for an inmate. Once the payment is received from their commissary account or from outside deposits, the inmate may call any allowed telephone number using these funds.

Yes, inmates can release property to anyone they wish. Property is released Monday-Friday 8:00am-11:00am. However, we will not deliver a message to an inmate requesting they prepare a property release. NOTE: Drivers Licenses, Social Security cards, Direct Express cards, Direction cards, and other IDs will not be released.

We do not deliver messages to inmates. If you have a verifiable emergency, please call (330) 643-2177.

Yes, inmates may purchase commissary two times a week by housing location. Units 2, 4, and 5: Monday and Wednesday Units 1, 3, 6 and Core: Tuesday and Thursday

No, inmates who do not have money may request an indigent kit. Indigent kits are hygiene items delivered bi-weekly. If an inmate has been in the facility for longer than ten days with no funds, they may request underwear, socks, shirts, and bras.

Yes, we will accept court clothes for an inmate if they have been indicted by the Grand Jury and will be having a trial.

Yes, all mail is delivered digitally to inmates. Letters must be sent to the following address:

To ensure inmate mail gets delivered, it must include the full facility name and state the facility is located in, as well as the inmate's unique identifier. Please also note that the sender's full name and physical address must be clearly written on the top left corner of the envelope. 

Prohibited items include:

  • Drawings or artwork made with glitter, crayon, marker, or colored pencil.
  • Any items with tape, staples, stickers, glue, or ink stamps.
  • Items sprayed with perfume/cologne.
  • Obscene or pornographic photos or imagery.
  • Photos or drawings depicting criminal activity.
  • Other materials deemed unsuitable by Jail staff.

Yes, texts and photos can be sent using GTL GettingOut at GettingOut.com or by downloading the GTL GettingOut mobile app. They will be received by the inmates on tablets. Texts and photos cost 25 cents to send. 

No, we only accept cash or credit card. There is an Access Secure Deposit kiosk located in the lobby of the jail which does accept cash or credit cards. The lobby kiosk is available for cash or credit card transactions 7 days a week from 8:00am-11:00pm. Credit card processing fees do apply.

All bonds must be paid at the Clerk of Courts Office of the court jurisdiction that is hearing the case. The Summit County Jail does not accept money for any bonds.

Summit County conducts video visitation only, which is done via PC, Mac, or mobile device. You can schedule visitation with an inmate at www.icsolution.com. If you do not have access to a computer or mobile device, you can utilize our video visitation terminal at the Jail. Visitation must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Visitors using the terminal at the Jail must arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time or they will be denied access.

If an inmate appears in court in the morning, we will receive the release paperwork in mid-afternoon. Once we have received a release at the Jail, the inmate should be released within two to three hours.

Visitation is approximately 25 minutes long.

There is a $150 limit.

Yes, inmate Services may restrict or deny visitation based on inappropriate dress.

You must have a valid State ID or Driver’s License to visit. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. They must have the minor child’s birth certificate or guardianship papers.

Inmate Services accepts Bibles or other published religious materials that are factory wrapped.

Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, religious studies, chemical dependency treatment, and life skills classes.

Inmate calls will be collect calls, so you can simply refuse to accept them. If you continue to receive unwanted calls you can have your phone number blocked in the Jail phone system by pressing 9 when asked to accept the call. Once you block your number from the Jail, you will not be able to receive any inmate phone calls from the Jail or any other facility also using our phone service vendor, ICS Solutions.

A money machine is located in the front lobby to deliver funds to an inmate. It is available seven days a week from 7:00am to 11:00pm.

8:00am-6:30pm Monday-Friday. Available times will appear when scheduling visitation at www.ICSolutions.com.

Details of prisoner transports are not given out to the public. Generally, a sentenced prisoner will be transported to prison within ten days of sentencing.
