Sex Offender Registry
The Sex Offender Investigation Unit is tasked with maintaining the complete registry and compliance of over one thousand sex offenders throughout Summit County.
Sex offenders are required to register with the county according to the schedule established by which classification they fall into, and any time they change their address. Community notification cards are sent to all households within 1,000 feet when a Tier 3 or Sexual Predator changes their address. Additionally, residents can sign up on the Summit County Sheriff’s website for email notifications of sex offenders moving into their neighborhood. These emails include all Tiers and Levels of offenders.
