The mission of the Summit County Sheriff's Office is to provide the safest environment possible for every citizen of Summit County.
Sheriff Kandy Fatheree is the 38th Sheriff of Summit County. The Sheriff’s Office was formed within days after the establishment of Summit County in 1840. Today, it consists of over 300 deputies and nearly 80 civilian staff, making it both the oldest and the largest government office in Summit County.
Local children are partnered with a deputy or officer who spent the day with them riding rides, playing games, visiting exhibitions, and eating all that great fair food
Senior citizens are paired with one of our deputies who will check in regularly with them to ensure their safety and well-being
Five-day program designed to educate pre-kindergarten children residing in or attending school in one of our patrol districts
Deputies and residents identifying crime problems and working together on solutions in the areas where they patrol or live
Economically disadvantaged children are partnered with officers and deputies to do some Christmas shopping for their families and themselves
Teaches high school-aged students interpersonal communication and reliance through law enforcement and ROTC-style training
