The Summit County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Bureau is the central answering point for all radio transmissions and telephone calls within the office. In addition to the communities patrolled by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Dispatch provides services to three additional agencies within the county: Springfield Township Police Department, Northfield Center Township Fire Department and the Metro Parks Serving Summit County.

The Dispatch Bureau assists all other emergency serviRADIOce agencies within Summit County in the role as point of contact for the activation of the Special Operations Response Team, Activation of County Mass Casualty Plan, Activation of Reverse Alert Telephone Notification System, Activation of Emergency Management Operations Center, Activation of Emergency Alert Radio System, the management of the county wide Mutual Aid Radio Channels, the Summit County Crime Stoppers Tip line, notification of the Ohio Fire Response Plan activation and the Ohio Law Enforcement Response Plan activation.

Dispatchers utilize state-of-the-art telephony equipment to assist them in locating wireless 911 callers. Networked applications and databases communicate with the telephony equipment, countywide GIS databases and the Computer Aided Dispatch system allowing dispatchers to provide the highest level of service based on industry standards.
